I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Clovis Gonzaga. This is a real loss to the optimization community, to which he has contributed so much !! I still remember reading his interior point methods survey while I was a PhD student: his clarity of explanation and insight really helped my understanding (and the amusing drawings really brought a useful smile when one is reading difficult things) ! And now I frequently recommend another one of his papers (with co-authors) that explains Nesterov’s acceleration - another example of his great qualities of making difficult things accessible !

He will be greatly missed,

With my best wishes Cora
